Air Waybills and Questions of Endorsement

A letter of credit scenario was discussed during a recent meeting of bankers involving a commercial LC calling for “Original Air Waybills to be further endorsed to [Named Issuing Bank]”, among its requirements.

For a received AWB without endorsement, the question was asked whether this is a discrepancy. For a received AWB further endorsed to the issuing bank, should the bank add endorsement to the AWB?
